Editable EXIF Fields

Every field listed below can be read, edited, or cleared directly in the editor. Changes are written back into the image file on download — the visual content of your photo is never touched.

EXIF Field What You Can Set
GPS Latitude / Longitude Add, change, or remove the location where the photo was taken

Artist / Creator Add your name so your authorship travels with the file
Copyright Embed a copyright statement (e.g. © 2026 Jane Smith)

ImageDescription Write a caption or alt-text description for the image
Make / Model Update or clear the camera brand and model fields

Additional fields may be visible in read-only mode depending on the file's embedded data.

Use Cases

Why Edit EXIF Metadata?

Add copyright & credits

Embed your name, copyright statement, and contact details directly into the file so ownership information stays with the image no matter where it travels.

Fix wrong date or time

Camera clocks drift, travel across time zones, or get reset after a battery swap. Correct the shooting date so your photo library stays accurately sorted.

Add GPS to untagged photos

Shot on a camera without GPS? Manually add the location coordinates so the photo shows up correctly on maps and in location-based searches.

Stock photo preparation

Stock libraries require accurate copyright, keywords, and descriptions embedded in the file. Edit all required fields before submission to speed up the review process.

Bulk Editing

Apply Edits Across Multiple Images

The editor works on one image at a time, but you can upload multiple files in a single session. After editing the first image, use the "Apply to all images" button to copy your current metadata changes to every other uploaded file — saving you from repeating the same edits one by one.

  • Consistent copyright across a shoot — Apply your copyright statement and artist name to every image from a session in one click.

  • Shared keywords for a photo set — Set the same descriptive keywords across all images destined for a stock library or client folder.

  • Uniform GPS tagging — Assign the same location to all photos taken at the same venue or event.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

What EXIF data can be edited?

You can edit GPS coordinates, date and time (DateTimeOriginal), artist/creator name, copyright statement, keywords, image description/caption, and camera make/model. Fields you leave blank are cleared from the file. Additional read-only fields may be displayed depending on what the original file contains.

Does editing EXIF data change image quality?

No. EXIF editing only modifies the metadata layer — the pixel data that makes up your photo is never touched. Your image will look identical before and after editing, and the file format stays the same.

Which file formats are supported?

JPEG and PNG are fully supported for reading and writing EXIF metadata. JPEG is the most common format for EXIF data and supports the widest range of fields. PNG supports a subset of metadata fields. WebP and GIF have limited or no EXIF support depending on how they were created.

How do I add GPS coordinates to a photo?

Open the image in the editor, find the GPS Latitude and Longitude fields, and enter the decimal coordinates for the location (e.g. 48.8584, 2.2945 for the Eiffel Tower). You can find coordinates for any location using Google Maps — right-click a spot and copy the coordinates shown.

How do I add a copyright statement to my photos?

Upload your image, enter your copyright text in the Copyright field (for example: © 2026 Your Name. All rights reserved.), and save. To apply the same copyright to multiple uploaded images, click "Apply to all images" after editing the first one.

What does "Apply to all images" do?

When you have multiple images uploaded in the same session, "Apply to all images" copies the metadata fields you've edited on the current image to every other file in your upload queue. It's a shortcut for applying consistent copyright, keywords, or location data across an entire photo set without repeating the edits manually for each file.
